Since my oldest entered junior high, I've mourned the loss of my kids... at least the kids I once had - the ones that enjoyed time spent together and didn't find it excruciating to be in the same room as me....

Every once in a long while, i am graced with my son wanting to show me funny stuff online.  Recently (after I recovered from shock and did a celebration dance), he showed me this gem.

 Once upon a time I used to hang out with Ryan's brother a lot (or he used to come over and yell at my TV)... reading Ryan's blog reminds me of conversations and friendship that its nice to remember...

Flatlanders has been doing an event called The Bean Gallery.  We weren't sure whether to call the events coffee houses or house concerts.  So we dubbed them 'coffee. house. concert.' events!

  They're super fun and we all get into the action.  Check out this awesome video one of our amazing interns put together from the last event....  Maybe you want to come on out for the next event on April 21st?

Some of you may have never seen this little clip.. take a second and enjoy. Even though this was made a while back, it still describes daily life! Amanda is lovely young lady sharing about Flatlanders, and we know that we're still 'home' to her even if she isn't living in the building anymore!

I am often surprised at how often people ask what we really DO at Flatlanders.. like you know, what is the WORK?

There is no shortage of tasks, but our emphasis is often relationship. So tonight, I sat with Kenny, who adores old-time music, and we listened to this you tube video. Over and over and over! As we listened he shared some good memories and laughs.

He just plain enjoyed the song.
... so I hope you will too!
